  Vickie Dean – Teacher
Vickie is a vastly experienced teacher who has helped hundreds of children to become more confident learners. A specialist in primary mathematics and literacy, Vickie has a unique ability to explain complex ideas in a way that is easy for children to understand. Vickie’s sense of humour and relaxed style make her a popular teacher of Kids First’s after school tuition programs, where she supports children in both individual and in small group classes. Pre-schoolers also enjoy her encouragement and care in our Confident Little Kids school readiness and social skills program.
   
   

 

 

  Marilyn Watters- Teacher
With more than 30years of classroom experience, Marilyn has the skill and ability to teach children of all ages. Throughout her career, Marilyn has held many leadership positions and her professionalism, empathy and genuine care for children is exemplary. Marilyn is a sought after teacher at Kids First because of the personal attention that she gives to each and every student. She also works closely with members of our children’s health team to develop Early Intervention programs for children with special needs.
   
   

 

 

  Katrina Morris – Teacher
Katrina has extensive experience in several local schools and is a versatile, professional educator. She has a strong working knowledge of the NSW curriculum and her enthusiasm for learning is a gift she shares freely with children at Kids First. Katrina works successfully with children of all ages, from our Confident Kindies through to upper primary schoolers seeking entry to Selective Schools. Her patience and kindness give children the encouragement and motivation they need to do their best.
   
   

 

 

  Shannon Chlystun - Teacher
Shannon has spent many years supporting pre-schoolers and their families and is well known in the Northern Beaches as the former director of the Jenny Wren Kindergarten in Narrabeen. Her expertise in the emergent curriculum and vast working knowledge of children’s social, emotional and cognitive development benefits children in Kids First’s Confident Little Kids program, in which she has a role as lead teacher. A friendly and committed educator who quickly builds rapport with children of all ages, Shannon also works closely with younger primary schoolers supporting foundation literacy and numeracy skills.
   
   

 

 

  Marion Prentis – Teacher
Marion has been a leading local educator for more than 25 years and Kids First is proud to have a teacher of her calibre and experience on its team. With a wealth of knowledge gained from many years of secondary school teaching, Marion brings warmth and dedication to her Kids First classes. In Marion’s after school classes, high schoolers benefit from her ability to break complex ideas down into easy to apply strategies for success.
   
   

 

 

  Mardi De Silva - Teacher
With a Masters Degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Science to add to her teaching qualifications, there is not much that Kids first maths specialist Mardi De Silva does not know about the NSW Mathematics curriculum. At Kids First, senior students benefit from her working knowledge of the syllabus and her innate ability to explain mathematical methods in a manner that is easily understood and remembered.
